BRAND USE GUIDELINES

Effective Date: October 1, 2025
Applies To: All active wholesale and brand partners (“Partners”) of Makeworth Coffee Roasters.

1. Purpose of These Guidelines

These guidelines explain how Partners may reference, display, and co-brand with Makeworth Coffee Roasters (“Makeworth”). They protect the integrity of our brand and ensure consistency across all customer-facing uses.

Any use of Makeworth’s name, logo, or creative assets must comply with these guidelines. Makeworth reserves the right to modify these rules with 30 days’ notice.

2. Approved Brand Assets

Partners may access and use the following approved assets:

  • The Makeworth wordmark and logo lockups provided in the Wholesale Portal.

  • Product photography and approved copy for use in café menus, websites, and social posts.

  • Point-of-sale materials or displays supplied directly by Makeworth.

All other assets—including original artwork, packaging designs, and custom fonts—remain exclusive to Makeworth and may not be recreated or modified.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use Makeworth brand assets to:

  • Identify Makeworth as the roaster supplying your coffee.

  • Promote Makeworth coffees sold or served at your location.

  • Participate in approved co-marketing or co-branding campaigns.

  • Display approved signage or retail displays.

All uses must:

  • Use current, unaltered artwork (no color changes, distortion, or overlays).

  • Maintain clear space around the logo and ensure good contrast.

  • Use only accurate product names and descriptions.

  • Attribute Makeworth accurately in text: “Coffee roasted by Makeworth Coffee Roasters.”

4. Prohibited Use

Partners may not:

  • Modify, crop, recolor, or combine Makeworth logos with other marks.

  • Use Makeworth branding in connection with political, religious, or discriminatory content.

  • Imply ownership, endorsement, or exclusivity beyond approved programs.

  • Use Makeworth’s brand to promote products not roasted or supplied by Makeworth.

  • Apply Makeworth trademarks on packaging, signage, or merchandise without written approval.

Unauthorized use may result in immediate termination of the partnership and possible legal action.

5. Co-Branded & White-Label Products

  • Co-branded packaging must follow Makeworth’s Co-Brand Layout Standards, provided upon approval.

  • White-label partners must ensure no visible Makeworth marks appear on their final packaging unless pre-approved in writing.

  • All designs must be reviewed and approved by Makeworth before printing.

  • Makeworth retains ownership of blend recipes, roast profiles, and packaging templates even when customized for a partner.

6. Retail Displays & Signage

Partners receiving Makeworth-branded retail materials or participating in retail box credit programs must:

  • Display materials in clean, visible locations near the point of sale or retail box display location.

  • Keep QR codes or promotional signage unobstructed, if requesting the optional retail display incentive.

  • Remove displays promptly upon ending participation in the wholesale program.

All displays remain the property of Makeworth unless purchased outright.

7. Photography & Social Media

  • Partners are encouraged to share photos and posts featuring Makeworth products.

  • When tagging, use @makeworthcoffeeroasters and any provided campaign hashtags.

  • Posts must represent the Makeworth brand positively and accurately.

  • Makeworth may re-share partner posts with credit unless the Partner opts out in writing.

8. Intellectual Property & Ownership

All Makeworth trademarks, logos, photography, copy, and product names are the exclusive property of Makeworth Coffee Roasters.

Permission to use these assets is limited, non-transferable, and may be revoked at any time.

Partners may not file for or register any marks or domain names containing the Makeworth name or confusingly similar terms.

9. Violations & Enforcement

Makeworth reserves the right to:

  • Request immediate correction or removal of non-compliant materials.

  • Suspend or terminate wholesale privileges for serious or repeated violations.

  • Pursue legal remedies for unauthorized commercial use of its intellectual property.
