About the Coffee:
Established in 2019, this Gesha region farm is lesser known compared to Yirgacheffe or Guji, but its varieties are exceptional. The famed Gesha 1931 and its sibling, Gori Gesha—one of the oldest known coffee varieties—originate from the nearby Gori Gesha Forest, just 20 minutes from the farm.
Owned by an export partner of Bodhi Leaf Coffee Importers, the farm tightly controls picking and processing, producing everything from anaerobics and carbonic macerations to traditional naturals. This lot underwent a 96-hour carbonic maceration in barrels before drying 16 days on raised beds. Thanks to the region’s warm climate, naturals develop beautifully here.
We're thrilled on the layers of complexity from this coffee. It rips on espresso and can shine through milk, but it's got enough balance and composition that it also runs well on filter or slow bar
